Backend changes

When we added the survey design function earlier this year, most people started using this instead of individual descriptions for each category.  Moving forward, we’ll be removing the “Description” code that was part of categories.  It’s kind of sad because we put so much effort into creating that code in the first place.

A couple of improvements directed towards mobile devices

We have been putting more effort into mobile devices.  John modified the icon library to work better on touch devices.  He also made it possible to import a kml/kmz from a link so that I can import these files from cloud services (such as dropbox).

Another feature is the “Route to Here”.  WikiMapping has an option that allows users to get directions to a point on the map.  It’s now possible to toggle between the directions and the map.

Surveys

Jessica Zdeb requested a change to improve the survey export.  Before, it would combine several check boxes into a single field in the exported spreadsheet.  John modified this to create a column that relates to each check box field.

A great way to start the day

I log into my computer by 6:00 am every morning and often see what new improvements John has made. It’s an awesome experience.
