To record where you use the water:

• Click on the Route or Point option above the map.
• Add a point or route to the map where you use the water. 
• Please answer a few survey questions.
• If you are the manager of a public access point or of a program that includes water contact, please take the “manager” survey by clicking the yellow icon. 
• Click Submit at the end of the survey to save your entry.
• Repeat the process if you use the water in multiple locations.

We need your help identifying where and how people use local waterways.
Documenting where and how people use the water will influence the water quality standards that must be met in these waters.

The first of two DEC rulemakings will be out for public comment at the end of March, 2023
These rules will assign new criteria for water quality to each classification.
The next rule making will re-classify some of the waters, applying the new criteria to them. Sign up for Riverkeeper's mailing list for updates and guidance about how and when to comment. riverkeeper.org/signup
